Re: Media Encoder CC2018 12.1.1 Build 12 Crashing on Batch Queues

You're welcome Dima.  Let us know what comes of this.  At least it does have the opportunity to finish, but it's definitely an unnerving feeling to go through the batch process now which would be great to get solved so that I can calm down when there's 40 shows to deliver.

how to not make duplicate proxies

$

Hello!

I need help.  I'm making proxies for my 4k footage that I imported into Premiere Pro and so it opened up Media Encoder to make the proxies based on my ingest settings.  However it kept crashing so I re-imported the footage two times to restart the encoding proxies process (this was not a good idea as I'll explain later).  I have stopped doing that.

So now I'm in media encoder and it is taking its sweet time making these proxies, but there is 3 of every clip and they appear to be in random order.  I have gone through multiple times and deleted the duplicates from the queue, but every time media encoder opens back up the duplicates are there.  I just want to set it so it won't make duplicate proxies.  Right now it's making two or three by putting "Proxy_1" or "Proxy_2" at the end of the file name.  The only setting I found to change was how the duplicate proxies are named, I can't find how to prevent media encoder from making duplicate proxies in the first place.  Please help this is driving me crazy, as I think I am making progress only to check and see the same 30 clips getting duplicated over and over.

*Update*

It keeps making duplicate proxies for files that I have only imported once.  I just want to know if there is a setting to be like "stop making duplicate proxies please adobe media encoder I want to love you but you make it so hard sometimes".

THANK YOU!!!

CUDA problem

Hi,

I got a problem with selection of the renderer. I have an option when choosing between software or CUDA:

Warstwa-2.png

But I can't change that in composition preset settings:

I have a GTX 970, i7 4790K.

Has anyone run into the same problem?

Adobe Media Web

Hi,

I am exploring Adobe Media Web for conversion to mp4.  Currently I am using Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018 Trail to evaluate the conversion.

I am using the Rest Web Service as per this guideline (https://github.com/sp00x/node-adobe-media-encoder-webservice) .

Could you please clarify the following queries?

1. What is the SourcePresetPath to convert to mp4? I ma trying with this "HD 720p 25.epr"  but it is comverting as wmv.

2. I could not convert .swf and .webm files to mp4? I am getting Invalid file format error

Looking forward your response.

Are you posting in the correct thread hendrikm18660095? This thread is about Media Encoder hanging or taking ages to start rendering since upgrading to the latest version of Media Encoder / After Effects / Premier. Or at least is was :-)

Making a Preset with a LUT

$

I have UHD S-Log 3 files, and I'd like to make proxies with a REC 709 LUT.  I'm new to the proxy workflow, so I've been watching tutorials, and it looks simple.  I've made some test presets, without a LUT, and everything works.  But, I'd really like to have proxies that are closer in appearance to graded footage (I don't want to be looking at S-Log all day).

When I try to make an encoding preset with a LUT, I'm able to add a Lumetri look, but when I try to select a non-Lumetri LUT from the dropdown menu, the window just closes.

A few minutes ago, in a chat with Adobe tech support, I was told that this is impossible to do.  But, if it is, why do I find tutorials about doing it?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you Dima! And Thank you Bryant.

Source files for me were Sony FS 7 4K. I'd be happy to send you one.

I found that when I set a up 10 clips to create proxies, closed Premiere and walked away they were completed. If Premiere is open, AME will crash on the same clips.

Cannot Export project in AME. Render returned error

I just spent the whole weekend banging on this problem.

I am trying to export my project as mp4 (H.264) but unfortunately AME always throws Render error.

I've read some discussions where people had similar problems but none that I found helpful. (I uploaded a screen shot of the error message at bottom of post)

I did clean reinstall of my OS but no avail.

I haven't added any special chars. in project name and related project files too.

And I suspect one of my cause would be my OS automatically prepending some kind of weird chars. over the drive path and output file name.

Take look at errors log below.

Any tips, advice, or experience from anyone else encountering the same or similar errors when rendering in AME would be much appreciated!

My OS and hardware info:

  • OS: Windows 10 pro
  • Graphics card: AMD Radeon M430, 2GB memory

Adobe media encoder keeps failing during export

Hi Everyone

I have been having problem with Adobe Media Encoder (AME) when rendering webm files. I'm trying to convert them to MP4 or anything that will help me retain the video quality so I can use them in Premier Pro because Premier Pro doesn't seem to like them and loses the audio but I can't resolve the problem. I've looked through lots of forums and youtube videos and tried different methods but I still get the same problem: all of the videos fail during the export with AME.

My PC is half decent so I don't think it's hardware related but I could be wrong...

GPU: AMD RADEON R9 200 Series

Processors: Intel Core i7-4790 CPU@ 3.60GHz  X8

--------------------------------------------------

I've tried rendering with lots of different settings and rendering to: MP4, Quicktime and 1080p Youtube preset. I've also tried rendering different webm clips but nothing is working. What am I doing wrong?

Here is the report I get from AME:

Plus I also get the same errors when I render videos directly with Premiere sometimes, though most of the time they got rendered just fine.

I would really appreciate if someone has a solution with this kind of problem!

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

GRACIAS.

Is it possible to use ExtendScript to apply a LUT in AME?

Is it possible to use ExtendScript to apply a LUT in AME?

The idea would go something like this...

  SourcePath="/Path/To/SourceFile";  DestPath="/Path/To/DestFile";  Format="H.264";  Preset="/Path/To/Preset.epr";  ThisLut="/Path/To/Lut.cube";  FrontEnd=app.getFrontend();  Rslts=ThisFrontEnd.addFileToBatch(ThisSourcePath,ThisFormat,ThisPreset,ThisDestPath);  Rslts.SomehowAddALut(ThisLut);

Export, save or nackup the watch folder settings

$

Hi there,

I have a very(!!) long list of watchfolders on a computer that is only for rendering my AE-projects.

For all different rendering settings that I need, I have individual watchfolders.

I am wondering:

Is there a way to save or export these settings (input and output path, render preset)? I am asking because I want to setup more render machines that work with the same setting. Also I want to be able to make a backup of those settings in case I have to do a factory reset.

Unfortunately I don't find any export-features in AME.

Can anyone help?

Are the settings maybe stored in a specific file, that I just need do copy and backup?

Same for me since I upgrade to the latest version of AME and PPR my 8 minutes export take more than one houre now with the new upgrade

Same project same seting same computer everything is the same. The export slow down a lot right after the last upgrade.

My computer is Mac pro 2015 running Mac Os Sierra 10.12.6

Hope you will fix it as soon as you can many people are in huge trouble now.

Thanks in advance

I think we should take it for granted that everyone here is telling the truth - It'd be a rather pointless forum thread where people made up problems to get help from the community with ;-)

I'm on a Mac. I have this problem. I've read posts from countless others that do too.

Media Encoder repeatedly Crashes

$

Hi,

I am using an Apple ProRes 422 LT "HD" file. I bring it into Premiere. I put it on an Apple ProRes 422 LT "SD". Then I add (720 x 486) bars & tone and a slate for SD. This has been the same process for years. Now all of a sudden the timeline freezes when outputting. I send the queue to Media Encoder. The file seems to freeze on the same frame or nearly. I tried three versions of the HD file that I import into Premiere. Yet, each output of the SD timeline freezes.

I spent an hour with Adobe. They say that the AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB needs a driver update. I cannot find a driver update. Mac OS seems to do their own driver updates.

I cleared the cache. I uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere and Media Encoder.

Is this a Mac OS problem? Is this a GPU / driver problem? Is this an Adobe problem? Or nobody cares problem?

Thanks,

Jason
